How does sponsorship help Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club?
Running a world-class hockey club takes commitment and hard-work, but it also needs financial support to provide the best training, facilities, coaching and development to enable our athletes to be their best. We are incredibly grateful to our kind supporters for helping us to get to where we are. Over the years, through generous sponsorship, we have been able to provide the training necessary to develop some of the UK’s most talented national and internally hockey players, as well as instil a life-long love of sport within our members.
Your generous sponsorship enable us to:
What’s in it for you?
In addition to knowing that by partnering you will be helping to support the development of our 800 + members, there are other benefits to partnering with Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club.
While we prefer to work with individuals and businesses to find the right opportunity, we have a number of set sponsorship packages outlined in our Sponsorship Strategy document below with additional and bespoke benefits.
Regardless of your generous donation, all sponsors will receive the following benefits as standard.
Established in 1955, Team Bath Buccaneers has grown into the largest hockey club in the South West with over 800 men, women and junior members. In addition to regular training and matches, TBBHC has a successful Junior Talent Centre, as well as acquiring a 3 year Talent Academy license in May 2022 granted by England Hockey to only 15 clubs in England.
Led by some of the UK’s best hockey coaches, Team Bath Buccaneers are able to attract and develop the best talent in men’s, women’s and juniors hockey, including former male and female Olympians and current England Hockey players. Our players range in age from 6 to 80 years of age.
Our world-class pitches are located on site at the University of Bath, with whom we work closely for our mutual benefit. Each year we run a Schools Engagement Programme to support schools in developing young people’s interest and ability in hockey. Team Bath Buccs also have a Bursary Fund, enabled through generous sponsorship, which allows access to hockey for all.
Last year our Men’s and Women’s 1st teams narrowly missed out on advancement into the Division One South, one league below Premiership, and many of our other teams celebrated league advancements in the 2021/2022 season.
Team Bath Buccs have a current social media following of over 6K across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with a reach often topping 10K at weekends. Our posts are also regularly retweeted and shared by others across social media platforms. Additionally, each week we publish a digital ‘Match Day Programme’ which includes team line ups, hockey-related articles written by our coaches and members, and promotional material by, and for, our sponsors.
Within our immediate catchment are two universities, The University of Bath (over 22,000 students and staff) and Bath Spa University (over 8,000 students and staff); over 80 primary schools; over 20 secondary schools; and around 10 fee-paying schools.
Bath’s population is around 105,000 with 66.9% of it’s residents aged between 18-64, a third of whom are educated to university level or above. 62% of Bath’s residents are in the ABC1 demographic.
This year we are developing a TBBHC Members’ Card which offers our 800 members discounts when purchasing services or goods from our sponsors. The aim of this scheme is to further support our sponsors by incentivising our members to purchase from our Team Bath Buccs family when looking for goods or services within and around Bath. This is included with each Partnership Package.
The discounts and offers available to TBBHC members will be determined through discussion with the Partnership Manager, but will likely include a percentage discounts, special offers or other advantages as are mutually beneficial to the partner (individual or business) and TBBHC members. We will work with you to find the most suitable way of enabling our members to access your offer.
For this season, and to develop our Members’ Benefits, we are specifically looking for sponsors to join our TBBHC Members’ Club offer in the following areas:
We aim to keep the number of partners in each area to a minimum to ensure maximum benefit for each business.
The TBBHC Members’ Card advantages will be promoted internally within the club regularly to our members through our club management software, on our website and through our Match Day Programme and externally through our social media channels and via our website.
