The Team Bath Buccaneers Ladies’ 1st XI have capped off a superb season by securing the England Hockey Conference West National League title, with the destination of the trophy only decided on the final day.
It was a tightly contested league from start to finish, with little separating the leading sides for much of the campaign. The Buccaneers rose to the challenge with consistency and composure, finishing with 40 points from 12 wins, 4 draws and just 2 losses. A standout feature of their run-in was an impressive sequence of 10 unbeaten games, which proved decisive in securing top spot.
The squad brought together a strong mix of university students, senior players, and current and former Talent Academy athletes. That blend of experience and emerging talent played a key role in maintaining performance levels across a long and competitive season.
Going forward, the team showed real quality, scoring 43 goals, with Izzy Usher (12) and Tabby Tinniswood (9) leading the way. At the same time, a solid defensive unit delivered 6 clean sheets, providing the platform needed to turn strong performances into consistent results.
Special mention should go to captains Honey Dickinson and Molly Marshall, as well as Head Coach Christian Moody and Manager Ben Redwood, for their contributions throughout the season.
It is a thoroughly deserved achievement for everyone involved, and the team can now look ahead with confidence to the challenge of Division 1 South next season.
