Men 5th vs City of Bath 2

Men 5th vs City of Bath 2

Despite lossing their top goal scorer to a head injury early in the game, TBB men 5s restarted their league campaign with a comprehenisve win at local rivals City of Bath 2s.

Within the first minute of the game, Marcus Bowman was hit in the head by a deflected shot which stopped the game. Once the game restarted it was City that took the initiative and created a number of attacks on the Buccs goal. However, Buccs grew into the game and a slick move down the right resulted in Jack Betenson scoring the openning goal for the visitors after a cross from Olly H. Marcus Longfield, Jon Prosser and Rick Warwick were excellent in the midfield as they harried and broke down play to win the ball for Buccs. Chances were created and it was soon 2-0 when Hessian converted from a penalty corner.

In the second half Buccs continued to dominate with Henry Young, Jack B and Olly H all leading the forward line. Any City attacks were dealt with by Hancock and Hansford; and when Hessian scored his second goal to make it 3 - 0 the game was effectively over. Two further goals were then added by Pellow and Reeves to give Buccs all three points.
