St Saviours Primary School, Bath benefit from Team Bath Buccaneers. Community Coach, Louise, has been engaging with 9 primary schools in Bath and is now working closely with Hayesfield School with further opportunities opening up within the other Bath Secondary schools. The project, funded by local businessman David Medlock is a great success with the hockey club now seeing more state school educated children joining the main club for out of school activities. Naturally there are many challenges including coaching on all surfaces but the children are fully engaged and enjoy the new experience of a sport that is normally beyond their reach. Louise stated "The teachers are very appreciative and it is wonderful to reach so many children and see them develop their skills". The Palladian Trust which oversees several primary schools are so pleased they have agreed to have a financial input for the 2024/25 academic year.
