Team Bath Buccaneer Hockey Club Mens 1st team played a big part in the Wales v England Development series held at Millfield School on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July.

On Saturday Wales Defender and Bath University student Nat O’Dwyer faced fellow teammates and forwards Hugh Page and Rob Wilson.  But it was an outstanding display from centre back Nat O’Dwyer that saw him voted man of the match in victory for Wales where a late winner was enough to secure a hard-fought victory over England u18’s.

The next day saw the second game of the weekend and the two England strikers took their revenge from Saturday’s disappointment with an impressive display in England’s stunning 6-1 victory with Hugh Page grabbing a brace of clinical and powerful penalty corner drag flicks to give the England team the lead. Then centre forward Rob Wilson scored two outfield goals with the first being a crafty reverse flick over the diving keeper to the near post, whilst the second was a delicate tap in with the potent striker positioned in front of goal to score England’s 6th goal in an entertaining win which levelled the series 1-1.
