The host side started very strongly and quickly scored 2 goals in the first 5 minutes. Buccs came back hard to win a short corner, which was neatly converted by Ellie Lyne, to leave the score at 2-1 at the first quarter.

Buccs had plenty of opportunities in the 2nd quarter, but were not able to put any away. Exe were clinical on the counter attack and scored 3 goals before half time to give them a convincing lead.

The 2nd half was a much more even affair but again Buccs struggled in the final quarter. A 6th goal from Exe all but sealed the deal, despite Ellie Lyne clawing one back with a well-executed penalty stroke.

The visitors were left disappointed with a 6-2 defeat with much to work on before their next game against Bristol at home on Saturday 23rd November.
