The first Time to Listen Workshops for hockey were launched over 5 years ago and so England Hockey in partnership with the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit have updated the course content in line with new legislation, policies and guidance.

With this in mind we advising that ALL Club Welfare Officers attend this new workshop to update their skills and knowledge of Safeguarding in regards to hockey.

Time to Listen (TTL) is a three hour interactive workshop adapted to be specific to hockey.  The workshop is aimed at Club Welfare Officers and people who have a designated welfare role.  It is good practice for the CWO or someone from the club to attend this workshop especially if you have U18 players participating at the club.

Time to Listen is a compulsory element of ClubsFirst accreditation.

The workshop is designed to give you confidence and support in your role and there will be plenty of opportunities to talk to other Welfare Officers to share experiences and good practice.

It is good practice and the EH would like clubs to have two trained TTL members – the Club Welfare Officer plus a club official ie Chair or Vice Chair.

Please find attached an application form for the course in Bristol on October 19th, the course in Swindon (venue tbc) on November 2nd and Bournemouth November 9th. A Further course is being planned in Gloucester after Christmas

Should you require any further details please do not hesitate to contact me.
