Match Report

Team Bath Buccaneers got off to a disappointing start against second place Trojans, conceding an early goal after only 51 seconds of play. After an injury time stoppage, Buccs were able to give themselves a talking to and proceeded to play much more positively.

Vikki Warwick rectified her spell off the pitch for a green card by coming back on to connect with a well timed cross from Jodie Portingale, deflecting the ball near post to bring the score back even.

Trojans put together some strong attacking passages of play putting the Buccs defence under pressure with MoM goalkeeper Kelz Bowden making some crucial saves. This eventually resulted in conceding two goals, from a flick over the goalkeeper and a slick short corner routine.

Buccs went into the second half determined to give the visitors a fight, and put together some good linking play with Katie Jones making strong drives down the right. Buccs had plenty of circle entries and were unlucky not to make the most of their opportunities.

As Buccs continued to push hard for goals, Trojans quick turnaround caught them on the break leading to another ball put into the back of the net. Final score: Buccs 1 Trojans 4
