Following on from the girls' defeat to Cirencester, it was the U14 Boys’ turn to face Cheltenham, the current National Champions, in the Avon League final. Could they retain the trophy they took from Cheltenham last year? The answer was yes, leaving Bath Buccaneers Boys undefeated at U14 the entire season. For 50 minutes the Cheltenham goalie appeared impassable until a well worked move saw Jack Denegri score the only goal of the game which was enough to clinch the match. Pace, skill and passion were the markers of a match that saw attacking hockey threaten at both ends and Zak Dinning make a match-winning save in the final throes of the game to see the Buccaneers crowned champions. The Man of the Final was Seb Crawford for his control and determination at CDM with Buccaneers John Lowrie and John Holdoway scooping both top goal scorer awards for Avon League groups South & North respectively. A fantastic way to finish an excellent season played #fastfearlessfun throughout.
