Match Report

Late game away in Bristol. The game starting later than expected since the opposition failed to provide umpires. We knew that this game would be tough since Bristol University are always strong at home. We started strong but under a lot of pressure. We conceded two goals late in the first half. The opposition had a player that could do good drag flicks mening that they were a threat in short corners. In the second half we again came under a lot of pressure however fatigue was a factor. A number of sloppy tackles in our circle meant we were giving away penalty corners. From these corners Bristol University used their drag flicker to extended the score further. Although we lost we did have times of good, quick and sometimes inventive hockey. We are starting to build a number of core players, I suspect as the season progresses and we play more games we win work much better as a team.
