TBBHC Cs lose match but win promotion

Not reported last week, but the C team has claimed second place in Central Division 1 and will play in the Conference next season.  A great achievement for the only 4th team in the league.

Unfortunately, this match against a determined side battling relegation didn't go their way.  Buccs, with half of their regular team missing, made most of the running in the first half creating lots of chances and short corners, one of which josh southern put away from a rebound.  A second goal was on the cards with Blue looking very dangerous going forward, but the Sidmouth goalkeeper made some strong saves, and as the half came to and end, the well organised away team were beginning to get parity in possession as their agrressive press started to work.

The second half was Sidmouth's as they flooded the midfield and turned over the ball more regularly, this resulting in their first goal.  Buccaneers though, while not enjoying their usual possession, were still dangerous in the final third and could easily have scored again.  But an agrresive turnover in midfield from a loose pass lead to a goal at the other end with 2 minutes to go.

So a disappointing end to the match but good to see some new faces turn out for the Buccaneers including Rich Peden and Benjamin Jenkins from the Ds, young Zeb Goldsmith from the Gs, and Will and Blue from the Uni.

Man of the match: Blue, all over them in the first half especially despite a massive Friday night
